A funny thing happened…

Got the year off to a rough start. Not long after posting my previous post, I got sick with COVID, and began the year with being really sick. Aside from the typical COVID symptoms, I also got some Grade-A Crazy as well. I lost my mind, not once but twice.

What this also means is that I wasn’t able to get going on my writing project for the month, since I was too sick to feel up to writing. My monthly project for January was supposed to be 10k words written of various short stories and ideas I’ve had for a while. As of this writing (1/11/24) I have written fewer than 200 words.

Since it’s still in the first half of the month, I think I can still get some writing done, but I am no longer shooting for 10k total, but for 2.5k instead. If I write more, I write more, but I don’t know if I can make it to my previous target. I suppose it’s possible, but probably more and more unlikely as time goes on. Especially since my motivation / momentum is nil.

Hopefully I’ll be able to somewhat salvage this month, and make things better next month, when I’ll be working on an overdue project that needs some closure. And, hopefully, I’ll blog about it too.

Onward!
